The aim of this course:
ATR 42/72-500 Type Rating is a qualification that all Civil Aviation Authorities require you to complete before you may fly this complex type of aircraft.
The Type Rating goes into far more depth depending on the complexity of the aircraft systems and flying characteristics and comprises 13 days of Ground School and 36 hours of Full Flight simulator training, skill test included. The final requirement would be to actually fly six touch and go’s in the form of six circuits. Once all the required training has taken place then the aircraft rating is issued onto the candidate’s professional flying license.
To qualify for the type rating course you need to have an CPL(A) or ATPL(A) on either Modular or Integrated course. If you have completed a Modular Course and do not possess an MCC (Multi Crew Cooperation Course) then we are able to complete a combined MCC & ATR 42/72-500 Type Rating Course for you. This consists of extra Ground School days and 10 more hours on the ATR 42/72-500 full flight simulator.
TAE in cooperation with Astra Airlines, leases an ATR 42/72-500, which is based in Thessaloniki, Greece. The aircraft is used for base training with instructor.
